A Logic-Based Lifeform's Guide to Compersion
As someone who neatly fits into the alexythymia class, it should not be surprising that I process my experiences logically. I’ve recently been working a lot on compersion, and like all sensible logic-based lifeforms I decided to detail my process in a flow-chart. It’s missing a loop counter, to account for those continual transgressors, but I find the concept works well for me.
My overarching goal for an open relationship is mutual happiness for my partner and I. It’s important to me to remember it’s not as relevant in the short term as to how this happiness is achieved, so long as it’s achieved in the long term.
I’ve been questioned if I worry about them finding someone else. No. If they find someone else who makes them happier then I do, then this is within the goal of mutual happiness. I find the honest pursuit of happiness liberating, knowing that we regularly check in on what makes the other happy.
